How am I matched?
After interviews and orientations (including eligibility and background checks), you are matched with a mentor based on mutual interests and an introductory meeting.
How did Project MOVE start?
Many Spokane youth with disabilities proceed with little direction after high school due to lack of community supports. Project MOVE was created to address this issue by evaluating the effectiveness of regular mentoring. Funded by a federal grant, Project MOVE is coordinated by Washington Initiative for Supported Employment, Community-Minded Enterprises, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Inland Northwest, and the University of Washington?s Center for Disability Policy and Research.
